Rick Haney

 

 

   Before living at Ocean Reef, Rick owned a publicly traded NASDAQ-listed company he cofounded in 1982. The company Wireless Cable of Atlanta owned and operated wireless cable, as well as private cable television systems in Atlanta, Georgia. By 1989 it was one of the largest private cable television operators in the nation. He sold it in 1997 to BellSouth which is now AT&T. Rick attended DeKalb Collage and received an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant in 1983, where he had served for seven years as an Aircraft Electric System Technician.

He has served on numerous corporate and association boards as well as advisory boards, a couple of which was the Georgia Institute of Technology Broadband Telecommunications Advisory Board, and The Private Cable Industry Board. Rick is a licensed private pilot. Also holding a Florida Sales Associate real estate license since 2002. Because of his experience, he understands the intricate details of any real estate transaction be it small or large. He and his wife Denise are a multi-million-dollar producing team in closed sales and listings. As your realtor team, it doesn’t get any better.

Denise, Rick, and family discovered the Club’s unique lifestyle in the mid-nineties almost three decades ago, they moved from Gainesville, Georgia a suburb of Atlanta to Ocean Reef in 1998 and have been permanent full-time residents ever since. They are both active members of the Ocean Reef community and have been involved in several community organizations over the years. Rick served on the Board of Trustees at The Academy at Ocean Reef, serving as Treasurer for twenty years. He also served as the Association Executive for the Central Listing Service at Ocean Reef (CLS) which is the real estate association and coordinates all real estate operations at Ocean Reef and Key Largo Anglers. As Association Executive, Rick started and set up the online operations of the CLS. He is a member of the Ocean Reef Flying Club. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and being out on the water. They have two beautiful daughters that attended The Academy and currently live in Estero, Florida.
